We are looking for a dedicated business developer, experienced with developing channel partners to join the commercial team as the Business Development Manager for Oneka’s equipment sales ! The Business Development Manager will be responsible for leading commercial efforts for Oneka’s Equipment Sales Business, including devices and complementary technologies. This will involve developing and supporting clients for repeat sales to industrial clients, NGO, municipalities, government entities and many more, for our variety of sustainable desalination and related solutions.  As the technology will be new to the market the role will also require some aspect of Product Development, working with engineering to fit the products to customer needs.

Your duties and responsibilities as a Business Development Manager :

  • Develop leads and inquiries for equipment sales of Oneka’s Marine-Outdoor Environment Compatible Data Acquisition (DAQ) units and Onekas Quick Deployment Desalination Units (IceCube);
  • Cultivate and manage client relationships;
  • Evaluate viability of potential opportunities financial and logistically;
  • Attend and present Oneka in trade shows;
  • Prepare and present proposals;
  • Coordinate opportunities with Oneka leadership;
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies, governments and attorneys as required;
  • Support Clients with after sales support.
  • Deploy and demonstrate technology for potential clients and at trade shows;
  • Actively Develop Product to support client needs;
  • Carry out other duties as may be assigned according to the company needs and ambitions !

You are a fit for this role and at Oneka if you have :

  • The desire to have a lasting impact on the future of our planet;
  • The ability to travel extensively, initially focused in Canada and US;
  • Experiences in Business Development and contracting with governments, departments of defense, NGOs ; 
  • Fully proficient level in English. French desired, Spanish a plus;
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong capacity to assess situations and negotiate;
  • Autonomous and enterprising skills naturally;
  • A comfortable level to prepare and present technical/commercial presentations;
  • Knowledge in desalination equipment and operations, an asset;
  • Great set of soft skills such as commitment, empathy, creativity and rigor.
  • Familiarity with Hubspot, Salesforce or other CRM platforms;
  • Technical proficiency using basic tools to assemble and set up equipment;
  • The physical capacity of manipulating heavy equipment;
  • Comfort in marine and outdoor environments;
  • Proficiency with operating small water craft is a plus.
