Dragan Tutic, P.Eng.
A visionary entrepreneur, Dragan guides Oneka to further growth and success, thanks to his expertise in both human relations and engineering. He is dedicated to making a lasting impact on humanity by combining his problem-solving skills, business acumen and leadership to mobilize the right people and capital. Mechanical engineer by training, he is able to conceptualize, develop and commercialize innovative products by adapting to each target market and selecting the best partners to achieve his goals.
Veteran of the desalination industry, Shawn brings to Oneka outstanding skills and deep knowledge of the water and renewable energy sectors. With over 25 years of experience, he brought hundreds of projects to successful completion in over 65 countries. Leading Oneka’s business development and commercial growth strategy, he is heading commercial efforts in the transition from a product development company to a worldwide service provider while ensuring customer satisfaction.
Susan Hunt, P.Eng., MSIS, MBA
Susan has spent over twenty years in the ocean sector working in product development and innovation portfolio leadership roles across large companies, startups and industry-led nonprofits. She was the founding Chief Technology Officer of Canada’s Ocean Supercluster, and has gained diverse ocean expertise commercializing solutions across the offshore energy, marine safety, and boating industries. Here at Oneka, she provides oversight on all new innovation development projects and manages multiple teams to ensure our company’s growth and success.
Alexandre Bertrand, P.Eng., MBA
Alexandre is a natural-born leader with a strong background in growth strategy. He has held various positions, including executive roles, in manufacturing companies at different stages of development. As an expert in operations management, engineering, and manufacturing, he is responsible for implementing industrial processes that will enable Oneka to achieve optimal productivity and ensure the production of high-quality buoys.
Trent is a performance-driven leader with 29 years’ of comprehensive achievements across management, strategic planning, technical business development, corporate safety management and facility operations in the water treatment industry. He is an analytical decision-maker with extensive experience in designing, constructing, commissioning and managing water treatment facilities and has an in-depth water treatment technology understanding. He assists Oneka with project execution, commissioning and long term operations.
Alain-Olivier Desbois, CFA
With over 20 years of experience in clean technology venture capital and social impact investing, Alain-Olivier brings his expertise to the strategic development and social impact financing of Oneka. Alain-Olivier’s expertise in impact, sustainability, and systemic change is fully utilized in his work at Oneka, where he designs new business models and implements innovative investment tools.
Louis Dubreuil, CPA, CA
With over 30 years of experience, including more than 12 years internationally, Louis is responsible for the development, implementation, and optimization of financial procedures at Oneka. With a strong team spirit and a passion for process improvement, he has extensive experience in various industries, including industrial manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and food.
With a degree in marketing and entrepreneurship, Camille showcases a strong expertise in brand management and business development. Versatile, she takes on multiple responsibilities within Oneka and stands out for her ability to highlight our products and services. Whether it’s creating impactful communication tools or managing creative projects, she brings valuable contribution to the visibility of Oneka.
Ariane holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a certificate in Professional Writing and French Language from Laval University. With over five years of experience in the field of human resources, she is drawn to the human, practical, and strategic aspects that she brings to her interventions and projects. Deeply concerned about the impacts of human activity on the environment, she is highly motivated by the opportunity to contribute to the changes brought about by Oneka Technologies through her role.
Joel Dion, P.Eng., Ph.D.
With over 10 years of experience and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Joel is a highly skilled engineer who excels in solving extremely complex problems. With a forward-thinking vision, Joel makes a significant contribution to the advancement of Oneka’s technologies through his work in management, design, and involvement in all stages of the development of our buoys and their subsystems.
Elliot Charron, P.Eng.
A graduate of the École Centrale de Nantes in engineering, Elliot possesses a deep expertise in numerical modeling and ocean engineering. His strong educational background enables him to create models and simulations of wave-related systems, skills that he applies on a daily basis in his role at Oneka. His unwavering passion for sailing and the outdoors drives him to constantly push the boundaries, exploring new perspectives to enhance marine technologies.
Gilbert Perron, P.Eng.
Graduated in Mechanical Engineering in 2014, Gilbert possesses extensive expertise in operations and equipment management. With an excellent ability to motivate teams, he is a structured engineer with excellent planning skills. As the supervisor of the design team, he effectively coordinates the various stages of buoy development, ensuring their progress all the way to production.
Jean-Luc Michaud, P.Eng.
Jean-Luc is a mechanical engineer with over 5 years of experience in design, product development, and field testing. He has played a crucial role in the sea trials of several buoys developed by Oneka, gaining solid hands-on expertise. While overseeing the Icecube team, Jean-Luc specializes in hydraulic pump design, structural validation, and production processes.
Daniel O’Brien, CEP
In addition to his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Daniel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geography with a focus on Oceanography. Over the past years, he has gained valuable experience in the ocean technology sector in Nova Scotia, enabling him to guide the Glacier team towards the development of an innovative and practical solution in line with market needs.
Nabil is an accomplished leader with many years working in project management, engineering, and offshore operations. He has a degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s degree in Offshore Technology, and has managed projects across various locations in South East Asia, Middle East, and Nova Scotia in the marine energy sector. His focus is to lead the deployment and execution of Oneka’s projects and to contribute in providing sustainable solutions.
Yannick Caron, P.Eng.
In addition to his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Yannick has several years of experience in R&D, during which he participated in the development of a variety of products. At Oneka, he designs various components for our buoys and carries out energy optimization calculations for their hydraulic systems.
Sana Gassara, CEP, Ph.D.
Sana holds a Ph.D. in Separative Chemistry, Materials, and Processes, with over 10 years of experience in water treatment and desalination. Her extensive expertise in membrane materials and processes gives her a deep understanding of both technical issue management and prevention, as well as optimizing the energy efficiency of our systems.
Benoit Dupont, P.Eng., M. A. Sc.
With a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Benoit stands out for his creativity and ability to solve complex problems. With nearly 10 years of experience in the green technology field, he has designed unique mechanical processes and equipment to transform waste into clean fuels and green chemicals. He is now dedicated to the technological development of future generations of Oneka buoys.
Adrien Vin, TRP
Adrien graduated in engineering from the Ecole Centrale de Nantes and started his career in the automotive industry in France. The desire to change his environment pushed him to cross the Atlantic to enter a field looking toward the future. Passionate about embedded systems, he is responsible for the sensor instrumentation of our buoys.
Katie earned her bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Originally from the United States, her passion to solve water scarcity brings her to Quebec. With experience in energy-efficient desalination, Katie works to improve the efficiency of Oneka’s systems by optimizing energy models
Vincent Blanchard, CEP
Vincent holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and has many years of experience as a designer, including in urban agriculture. Being passionate about sustainable development, he has a great interest in future technologies that will allow our society to become carbon neutral.
George Lamb, CEP
George first completed his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 2015 in New Zealand. He then went on to work on different projects acquiring experience in design, assembly and drafting. With his rich experience, he joined Oneka and now works on the analysis of buoy and system components.
Antoine Gagné, CEP, M. Sc. A.
Antoine is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Sherbrooke , with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree under his belt. His sharp skills in mechanical system design are effectively utilized when providing support to field teams. Passionate about clean technologies, he aspires to develop innovative products that will have an impact on future generations.
Asaad completed a master degree in Hydrodynamics for Ocean Engineering and a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. At Oneka, Asaad creates marine modelling simulations to optimize our buoys. His multidisciplinary skills helps him pursue his passion to solve engineering problems to make the world sustainable and greener.
Graduated from École Centrale de Nantes in France, Victor possesses extensive expertise in the field of design, covering a wide range of skills ranging from coding to hydraulics. At Oneka, Victor applies his know-how by designing various subsystems for our buoys, while ensuring their efficiency optimization.
Graduate from École Centrale de Nantes, Serena is known for her acute sense of analysis. She brings her expertise to the development of various components and the design of the structure for the Glacier-class buoy. With her experience in analytical calculations, she greatly contributes to the success of her team and Oneka through her forward-thinking mindset and attention to detail.
After obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in automation and gaining various professional experiences in the transportation industry, Paul developed a strong interest in sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions. This interest led him to join Oneka, where he applies his skills in mechanical engineering, programming, and electronics to the continuous improvement of buoys and design methods.
Alex Mimault, CEP
A graduate of the University of Sherbrooke with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Alex has a keen interest in technology and problem solving. His numerous trips around the world have allowed him to contemplate the magnificent landscapes that nature offers, which is where his desire to have an impact on its preservation was born. Oneka’s mission is aligned with his values, so he joined the electronics team and is in charge of designing and keeping Oneka’s buoy software solutions on the cutting edge.
Will Ablett, P. Eng.
Will is a mechanical design engineer from PEI who has joined the Oneka team to contribute to the development of innovative and emergent green technologies. Having graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, he has gained experience in a variety of industries throughout the Maritimes. Will is responsible for the ongoing development of Oneka’s testing and design initiatives in Eastern Canada.
Jeremy holds a technical diploma in logistics and has several years of experience in transportation management and procurement. Driven by the pursuit of efficient purchasing management processes, he is constantly seeking new problems to solve and processes to improve. As a buyer, his goal is to develop mutually beneficial business relationships for both Oneka and its suppliers.
Jean began his career in the paper industry, where he gained expertise in chemical processes and production supervision. He later transitioned to the clean energy sector before becoming a vital member of Oneka Technologies. As the Operations Coordinator in Sherbrooke, Jean plays a central role in overseeing activities and being involved in testing at our global sites.
Certified commercial diver with 15 years of experience and thousands of dives under his belt, Marcos worked as a project leader in various maritime construction projects for 10 years. In addition to his professional interests, he is a passionate diver who loves the sea. It is precisely to reconcile his passion for diving with his commitment to the environment that he chose to join Oneka’s team.
As a certified USCG 25-ton Captain with several hundred hours on the water, Jesus is primarily responsible for maritime operations at our Florida site. With experience in various fields such as mechanics, carpentry, plumbing, and more, he manages maintenance and assists in the deployment of our buoys.
Williams Gabriel Figueroa Alarcon
Williams is an industrial mechanic by trade with 13 years of experience in desalination plants, assembly, and commissioning. Living in Chile, a country greatly affected by water scarcity, he is particularly motivated by Oneka’s mission, both personally and professionally.
Alvaro Yanez Alvarado
Alvaro is a commercial diver and recreational diving instructor with 10 years of experience in the field. with a great passion for the sea, enthusiastic in his work and caring for the environment

Arnaud Samson, M. A. Sc.
After earning an engineering degree from ISEN-Toulon in France and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Sherbrooke, Arnaud specialized in microelectronics, embedded software, telecommunications, and cloud infrastructure. He is now working on the design of computer systems for our buoys.
William Lemaire, P.Eng., M. A. Sc.
William is a Ph.D. candidate in Electrical Engineering who is passionate about developing technologies with a strong social and environmental impact. He has been involved in the design of complex electronic systems, such as an implantable artificial retina. At Oneka, he implements the technological solutions necessary for remote buoy operations.
Jonathan Bouchard, P.Eng., M. A. Sc.
Jonathan has completed a master’s in electrical engineering and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in the same discipline. Specialized in embedded electronic systems design and high-speed printed circuits, Jonathan brings strong expertise and experience to Oneka. As part of the team, he has already designed multiple data acquisition systems for buoys and participated in the design of highly reliable electronic systems.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Danaë is currently completing his Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Danaë works mainly on the design and verification of the electronic circuits of the various PCBs of the data acquisition system.
Paskal specialized in ocean engineering and material mechanics at École Centrale de Nantes. Hailing from France, his expertise in data analysis enables him to optimize the processing of raw data from Oneka’s buoys, allowing the team to improve their processes.
Student at the University of Sherbrooke in applied communications, Élisabeth specializes in content creation, web marketing and public relations. At Oneka, she provides technical support to sales operations.
Motivated by efficiency and challenges, Catherine has extensive experience in administration and plays a crucial role in Oneka’s daily operations. She is primarily responsible for managing various accounting operations and administrative tasks.

Highly committed to the water industry, Mark has a strong expertise in the fields of water and environment. He specializes in strategic planning and acquisitions in clean energy markets, both in developed and emerging markets. His commitment and skills make him a key player in the desalination field in California.
Peter has accumulated valuable experience within startups, thus showcasing an impressive track record in terms of growth, particularly with Endurance. With a background in mechanical engineering, he brings insightful expertise to Oneka on best practices, processes, and operations in the clean technology field, as well as manufacturing.
Alan Taylor, Ph.D.
Alan is a naval architect by training and has extensive experience in the marine and renewable energy sectors. He has deployed test sites for wave energy conversion (WEC) systems as well as devices for data harvesting. He provides guidance to Oneka on maritime operations, permits, WECs, the ocean, and much more.
Pierre has extensive experience in economics, finance and investment. He has worked for over 35 years in leading organizations in Europe, Canada and emerging markets. At Oneka, he contributes to the creation of an adapted, flexible and optimized financing strategy to support Oneka’s growth, and is particularly involved in project financing.
Pierre Côté, Ph.D.
Pierre is a chemical engineer and expert in filtration and membrane treatment. He is an industry recognized desalination veteran, mostly known for his success with Zenon, as its CTO.

Impact investor, advisor and business coach with more than 20 years of experience in the fields of Cleantech venture capital and impact investing. Alain-Olivier provides a hands-on coaching approach to entrepreneurs and managers for the creation, strategic development and the financing of start-ups and private impact funds. Alain-Olivier is passionate of designing and developing new business models and investment tools that integrate impact, sustainability, system change and life cycle thinking.
Business executive with over 30 years of experience in business development, strategic planning in technology and service industries. Lead numerous strategic initiatives in business planning, IT transformation and leadership.
Colin Ryan, P.Eng, MBA
With a background in mechanical engineering, Colin Ryan began his career in heavy industries, including oil refining, metal processing, and pollution reduction technologies, where he worked as an operator and held positions in global marketing and sales. He has been involved as an investor, director, and senior executive in new technology companies operating in the clean technology industry.

In addition to her senior management role at Invest Nova Scotia, Lidija Marušić manages a thriving portfolio of companies and fosters the commercialization of new medical innovations by guiding researchers and emerging start-up founders. She is also a board member at Audioptics Medical, Axem Neurotechnology, Emagix, CVCA and BioNova.
