Dragan Tutic, P.Eng.
Dragan is a result-driven entrepreneur, devoted to having a long-lasting impact on humanity by combining his problem-solving skills, business development sense and leadership, which mobilizes people and capital. Mechanical engineer by training, he leverages his capacity to develop and bring innovation to commercial-ready products with optimized market fit.
As a veteran of the desalination industry, Shawn brings to Oneka outstanding skills and deep knowledge of the value-added water and renewable energy sectors. With over 25 years of experience, he brought hundreds of projects to successful completion in over 65 countries. Leading Oneka’s business development and commercial growth strategy, he will head commercial efforts in the transition from a product development company to a worldwide commercial equipment and service provider while ensuring customer success.
Alexandre Bertrand, P.Eng., MBA
Alexandre is a leader at heart with a strong background in growth strategy. As an expert in operations, engineering and manufacturing governance, he will be responsible for setting up industrial processes, that will allow Oneka to have optimal productivity, and ensure the manufacturing of high-quality buoys.
Joel Dion, P.Eng., Ph.D.
Joel is a mechanical engineer in the field of research and development with a PhD and 10 years of experience. He is a highly skilled engineer who solves extremely complex problems involving dynamic systems with a high degree of freedom, such as Oneka technology.
Elliot Charron, P.Eng.
Elliot has been a sailor since the age of 6. He holds an engineering degree from the École Centrale de Nantes, where he specialized in numerical modeling and ocean engineering. Among his many skills, he can produce hydrodynamic models and system simulations.
Gilbert Perron, P.Eng.
Gilbert has a degree in mechanical engineering and has extensive experience in equipment management and maintenance planning. He has an excellent ability to rekindle team spirit and is a structured engineer with strong project management skills.
Jean-Luc Michaud, P.Eng.
Jean-Luc is a professional mechanical engineer with 5 years of experience in design, product development and sea testing. He has been the lead test engineer for four Oneka buoys. He specializes in hydraulic pump design, structural validation, and production processes.
Daniel O’Brien, CEP
In addition to his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Daniel holds a bachelor’s degree in geography where he studied biogeochemical and environmental oceanography. In recent years, he has gained valuable experience working in the ocean technology sector in Nova Scotia developing sonar and winch systems.
Camille holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with majors in marketing and entrepreneurship. She is a professional with a strong entrepreneurial spirit. Versatile, she has experience in a variety of areas: development strategy, financing, human resources management and business process improvement.
Ariane graduated from Laval University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a certificate in professional writing and French language. Working in the world of human resources for more than five years, she finds herself in the human, field and strategic side that she brings to her interventions and projects. Strongly concerned by the impact of human activity on the environment, she is greatly motivated by the opportunity to contribute to the changes that Oneka Technologies brings through her role in the company.
Yannick Caron, P.Eng.
Yannick holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering as well as several years of R&D experience during which he developed a variety of products. He is responsible for the design of mobile parts and for energy optimization and fluid mechanics calculations for hydraulic components of our buoys.
Sana Gassara, CEP, Ph.D.
Sana has a doctorate in separative chemistry, materials and processes, and more than 10 years of experience in water treatment and desalination. Her extensive expertise in membrane materials and processes allows her to have in-depth knowledge both for the management and prevention of technical problems and for optimizing the energy efficiency of the process.
Sebastian Plotkin, CEP
Sebastian is an engineering candidate and an avid sailor. He began his career in aerospace, coordinating the upgrade of the CF-18 sensor suite. He then became involved in managing turbine and generator maintenance operations. He is a project manager at Oneka and ensures that operations are carried out in the best possible conditions.
Benoit Dupont, P.Eng., M. A. Sc.
Benoit is a mechanical engineer with a master’s degree. He stands out for his creativity and his ability to solve problems. With 7 years of experience in the field of green technologies, he has designed unique mechanical processes and equipment. He is now dedicated to the technological development of future generations of Oneka buoys.
Adrien Vin, TRP
Adrien graduated in engineering from the Ecole Centrale de Nantes and started his career in the automotive industry in France. The desire to change his environment pushed him to cross the Atlantic to enter a field looking toward the future. Passionate about embedded systems, he is responsible for the sensor instrumentation of our buoys.
Katie earned her bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Originally from the United States, her passion to solve water scarcity brings her to Quebec. With experience in energy-efficient desalination, Katie works to improve the efficiency of Oneka’s systems by optimizing energy models
Vincent Blanchard, CEP
Vincent holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and has 7 years of experience as a designer, including in urban agriculture. Being passionate about sustainable development, he has a great interest in future technologies that will allow our society to become carbon neutral.
George first completed his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 2015 in New Zealand. He then went on to work on different projects acquiring experience in design, assembly and drafting. With his rich experience, he joined Oneka and now works on the analysis of buoy and system components.
Asaad completed a master degree in Hydrodynamics for Ocean Engineering and a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. At Oneka, Asaad creates marine modelling simulations to optimize our buoys. His multidisciplinary skills helps him pursue his passion to solve engineering problems to make the world sustainable and greener.
Victor is an intern specializing in mechanical conception with a vast field of expertise ranging from coding to hydraulic. Coming from Centrale Nantes, France, Victor is part of the team who optimizes Oneka’s buoys’ efficiency and develops test benches.
Jean began his career working for Cascades where he acquired expertise in chemical processes and production supervision. He then continued on a similar path working for the Enerkem Innovation Centre and for Enerkem Alberta Biofuels. At Oneka, Jean coordinates the operations in Sherbrooke and is involved in testing operations around the world at our different locations.
Being a certified USCG 25 Ton Master Captain with over 400 days on the water, Jesus is primarily in charge of marine operations at our Florida site. Having experience in various fields such as mechanics, carpentry, plumbing and more he manages maintenance and helps in the deployment of our buoys.
Olivier has a strong commitment and passion towards green technologies and renewables energy. Having a bachelor’s degree in combined mechanical and geological engineering at l’École Polytechnique de Montréal and postgraduate business administration studies, Olivier is in charge of commissioning our commercial project.
Antoine Gagné, CEP
Antoine holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Université de Sherbrooke. His master’s project allowed him to develop his skills in mechanical systems design, product development and experimental testing. He has also developed a passion for clean technologies and wishes to use his skills to develop products that will have a real impact on society.
After a bachelor’s degree in automation and various professional experiences in the transportation field, Paul developed a strong interest in a sustainable and ecological industry. This led him to Oneka, which puts his mechanical, programming and electronic skills to work in the field of continuous improvement of both buoys and design methods.
Rémi has a college degree in aerospace engineering and has two years of experience in the machining field.
He is currently studying for a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Sherbrooke and is working at Oneka in the context of his second internship.
As part of his team, he is helping design the motion transmission mechanism for the new buoy range.
Blandine is an intern in mechanical engineering. As a student at ENSTA Paris, her commitment to a more sustainable future led her to do her first internship with Oneka’s innovation team. Blandine is working on the realization of a test bench.

Arnaud Samson, M. A. Sc.
After an engineering degree from ISEN-Toulon in France, Arnaud joined the Groupe de recherche en appareillage médical de Sherbrooke (GRAMS) for a master’s degree in electrical engineering, where he is currently undertaking a doctorate in the same field. He specializes in microelectronics, embedded software, telecommunications as well as cloud infrastructure.
William Lemaire, P.Eng., M. A. Sc.
William is a Ph. D. candidate in electrical engineering passionate about the development of technologies with a strong social and environmental impact. He has participated in the design of complex electronic systems, such as an implantable artificial retina. Within Oneka, he implements the technological solutions required for remote buoy operations.
Jonathan Bouchard, P.Eng., M. A. Sc.
Jonathan has completed a master’s in electrical engineering and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in the same discipline. Specialized in embedded electronic systems design and high-speed printed circuits, Jonathan brings strong expertise and experience to Oneka. As part of the team, he has already designed multiple data acquisition systems for buoys and participated in the design of highly reliable electronic systems.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Danaë is currently completing his Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Danaë works mainly on the design and verification of the electronic circuits of the various PCBs of the data acquisition system.
Paskal specializes in ocean engineering and material mechanics at the Ecole Centrale de Nantes. Originally from France, his expertise in data analysis allows him to optimize the processing of raw data from Oneka’s buoys to give them a physical meaning.
Pursuing his studies in marketing and business technologies, Charles-Henri first joined the team for an internship during which he evolved by coordinating different video and website projects. Passionate of entrepreneurship, he brings innovation to Oneka’s administrative operations by deploying new technologies to optimize processes.
Driven by efficiency and challenges, Catherine has extensive experience in administration and plays an important role in the daily operations of Oneka. She’s primarily responsible of handling different accounting operations and administrative work.

Mark Lambert, MBA
Mark is actively involved in the water industry community. He is a senior executive with extensive experience in the Water and Environmental industries. Mark specializes in strategic planning, growth capital fund raising, transactional and acquisition support services in the water, clean energy and infrastructure markets serving developed and developing markets.
Peter has experience in VC-funded hardware tech startups with a successful track record for their growth including Endurance, . Mechanical engineer by training, he provides Oneka guidance on best practices, processes, operations, cleantech hardware product reliability/bankability and manufacturing.
Alan Taylor, Ph.D.
Alain is a naval architect by training with extensive experience in the offshore, marine and renewable sectors. He deployed WEC testing sites as well as WEC devices. He provides us guidance on marine, permitting, WEC, ocean, etc.
Pierre Côté, Ph.D.
Pierre is a chemical engineer and expert in filtration and membrane treatment. He is an industry recognized desalination veteran, mostly known for his success with Zenon, as its CTO.

Alain-Olivier Desbois, CFA
Impact investor, advisor and business coach with more than 20 years of experience in the fields of Cleantech venture capital and impact investing. Alain-Olivier provides a hands-on coaching approach to entrepreneurs and managers for the creation, strategic development and the financing of start-ups and private impact funds. Alain-Olivier is passionate of designing and developing new business models and investment tools that integrate impact, sustainability, system change and life cycle thinking.
Business executive with over 30 years of experience in business development, strategic planning in technology and service industries. Lead numerous strategic initiatives in business planning, IT transformation and leadership.
Colin Ryan, P.Eng, MBA
A mechanical engineer by training, Colin Ryan started his career in heavy industries including oil refining, metals processing and pollution abattement technologies as operator and global marketing and sales executive. He has been involved as investor, director and senior executive of early stage technology ventures active in the Cleantech industry.
Jonathan Saari, Ph.D.
Jon has over five years of experience in founding, financing and growing start-ups, combined with a history of advising Fortune 100 companies on capturing value through their IP portfolios. He was the co-founder and eventual CTO of Airy3D, an entrepreneur-in-residence with TandemLaunch, and an IP consultant and contributing inventor at Xinova.
Jon has a bachelor of science (hons.) from Queens University, a Ph. D. from McGill University, and a post-doc from ETH Zurich.
