Oneka’s CEO appointed on the Board of Directors of Marine Renewables Canada
Our CEO Dragan Tutic has recently been appointed on the Board of Directors of Marine Renewables Canada together with 3 other new board directors.
Oneka is excited to announce the arrival of Trent Weber as Vice President of Field Operations. Trent will apply his expertise to Oneka’s operations teams and installations, focused on performance and optimization. Throughout his career, Trent has been involved in a multitude of successful international projects, most notably in the Caribbean, Middle East, and America and will oversee the commissioning and operation of Oneka’s sustainable, wave-powered desalination projects in various target markets. The entire Oneka team is happy to welcome Trent. His strategic vision and leadership will contribute to the transition to a world class operating company.
Trent joins the Oneka team as we continue to expand Oneka’s services and equipment to markets. With his extensive knowledge of water desalination, Trent will be responsible for managing all of Oneka’s operations and maintenance teams and will continue the expansion of Oneka Technologies’ international operations.
With over 25 years of experience in management, strategic planning, business development and facility operations, Trent has an impressive track record in a variety of industries.
Since 2019, Trent has been president of BluIsle Business Consulting LLC, offering support and consulting services to clients operating in the water industry. From strategic planning, health and safety process and procedure audits, training program design and even merger and acquisition assessments, he has successfully advised numerous clients.
From 2017 to 2019, Trent was Chief Operating Officer at Mycelx Technologies where he was responsible for corporate operations, facilities management, material procurement, production, warehouse operations, global inventory and logistics.
Previously, he served for nine years as VP of International Market Development for Seven Seas Water Corporation, a value-added water services company. With the mandate to develop markets in Africa, South America, the Caribbean, India and the Middle East (Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates), Trent developed important strategic alliances with local partners and technology providers.
Within the same organization, Trent also served as VP of Field Services, coordinating the operation and maintenance of plants in the Caribbean and the Americas, developing standard and site-specific training programs, and leading staff through the installation and commissioning of 20 new water treatment plants.
At Ionics (later acquired by General Electric), an organization specializing in water purification, Trent had several roles including compliance and performance manager, site manager and program manager. In these roles, he was involved in negotiating international contracts, overseeing water treatment operations of 30+ plants in the United States, and managing 24 desalination plants in the Caribbean,
Trent holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from Texas A&M University and two degrees from the University of New Mexico in Water Treatment.
We look forward to working with Trent to facilitate the international deployment of our sustainable desalination units and to achieve our short, medium and long term goals.
