The Oneka team is delighted to welcome Louis Dubreuil, CPA, as the new Director of Finance. Louis is a dynamic executive with over 30 years of experience in the financial field. A member of the Quebec Order of Chartered Professional Accountants, he brings with him an analytical mind and a strategic vision that will be important assets for Oneka. Always ready to take on new challenges, Louis will also contribute to the growth of our company thanks to his extensive experience in various sectors of administration.
In collaboration with the finance team, Louis will be responsible for the development, deployment and optimization of financial procedures, while ensuring the smooth running of the company’s economic activities. His initiative will contribute to strengthening Oneka’s financial capabilities.
Louis’ impressive background
With more than 30 years of experience in accounting, finance, grant research and portfolio management, including more than 20 years in senior management positions, Louis has had a diverse and fulfilling career.
Most recently, he held the position of Director of Finance at Coop Alentour, a Quebec-based cooperative specializing in grocery store and distribution center operations. Louis provided strong leadership to several teams, managing the finance, information technology, financing and grant research departments. He ensured the financial health of the group while selecting, negotiating and implementing a new enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and integrating the Power BI data analysis system.
Prior to joining the Coop Alentour, Louis held two positions at Les Moûts de P.O.M Inc., a beverage company. As General Manager, he played a key role in the preparation of a sales file. Previously, as Finance Director, Louis was responsible for seeking funding from local partners, establishing the annual budget and preparing the audit file. His thoroughness ensured that the accounting process was followed to record and improve the economic interactions of the company.
In the past, Louis has also worked as a consultant for several organizations. By offering personalized consulting services, he has helped his clients obtain financing for various projects, develop effective budgeting processes to increase productivity, determine costing and conduct economic performance analyses.
Louis also served as General Manager of PhasOptx Telecom Inc. a telecommunications company. His responsibilities included managing the search for bank financing, grants and investors to help this new organization flourish. As General Manager, Louis was also responsible for developing the business plan and determining the budget for operations and equipment. He was able to guide the members of his team towards the achievement of their objectives.
From 2010 to 2011, Louis served as Director of Finance at Norit Americas Inc, a Texas-based activated coal company. Leading a team of 11 employees, he managed the organization’s finances, including planning $300 million in investments to increase production capacity. He also implemented the ICS process, helping to control the company’s hardware and software operations. During this time, he was involved in the opening project of a lignite mine and contributed to the growth of production capacity at the mine sites.
From 2002 to 2009, Louis served as Vice-President and Corporate Controller at Siemens Transportation Systems Inc, a California-based transportation solutions company. He played a key role in the company’s success by rigorously monitoring the group’s financial performance and producing budgets, financial reports and financial projections for five divisions. As a member of the compliance committee, he also contributed to the organization’s anti-corruption efforts.
Louis holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières.
